The Moscow "Spartak" football club's sports department plans to purchase two new players for the central defense. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
This decision was made after Alexis Duarte transferred to Brazil's "Santos" club. Currently, head coach Dejan Stankovich has only three central defenders at his disposal: Srdjan Babich, Ruslan Litvinov, and the injured Yegor Guziyev.
In the summer, it was noted that Stankovich switched to a formation with three defenders. According to Metaratings, the candidacy of Aleksandr Jiku from "Fenerbahce" is being considered to strengthen the defense.
According to the source, Jiku is close to moving to "Spartak," but all terms have not yet been agreed upon. Additionally, the "red-whites" team's sports director Francis Kahigao is negotiating with other defenders as well.
Their goal is to purchase another new player after Jiku. This is aimed at further strengthening the team's defensive line.
