FIFA officially rejected Laport transfer

“Athletic” made a statement on its official website. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

It states that the Spanish Royal Football Federation's request to FIFA for an international transfer certificate to return defender Aymeric Laporte to the Bilbao club was denied. “Athletic” applied for Laporte’s transfer through the FIFA TMS platform on the first day of autumn.

It became known that the “Al-Nasr” club failed to submit the documents on time. Later, the federation requested an exception from FIFA, but the request was rejected.

Thus, “Athletic” cannot register Laporte. The Bilbao club emphasizes that the cancellation of the deal will not lead to financial consequences for the club.
