The initiative to promote reading literature in order to improve the knowledge level of young football players by Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyaryov was supported by former Spartak footballer Yevgeny Makeev. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to Makeev, books can be beneficial for the younger generation, but it is not right to introduce this in a mandatory manner. As his recommendation, he advised reading the work "Three Friends".
Makeev stated that reading several books can be useful for some footballers, especially for young people it is not a necessity, but the habit of reading books is a normal situation. Earlier, Degtyaryov announced that the list of recommended books for Russian football players would be approved by the Ministry of Sports.
This initiative serves the cultural and spiritual development of young athletes. Additionally, reading books is considered an important factor in increasing their knowledge level.
The integration of sports and education sectors helps ensure the quality upbringing of the younger generation.
