Bayer formed the team without Ten Hag's participation

Sports23:14, 05-09-2025

Former head coach Erik Ten Hag did not participate in the process of forming the team at Bayer football club in Leverkusen, Germany. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

It is known that he had no prior information about the club purchasing defender Lucas Vázquez from Madrid's Real club. Ten Hag saw Vázquez at the club base for the first time.

Additionally, the club management consulted former coach Xabi Alonso's opinion. Alonso is currently working at Real club.

This was reported by Sport Bild. Ten Hag's resignation was announced on September 2.

His resignation is the fastest in the history of the German Bundesliga, as the specialist was dismissed after only two matches. At the start of the 2025/2026 season, Bayer lost to Hoffenheim and drew with Werder.

These results are considered unsatisfactory for the club. The management aims to improve the team and achieve success with a new coach.
