Istanbul's "Besiktas" club has signed a contract with Wolfsburg's wing-back Vaclav Cherniy. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
A three-year agreement has been finalized. Cherniy is 27 years old and has played 26 matches for the Czech national team, scoring a total of seven goals.
Two years ago, he transferred from "Twente" to "Wolfsburg" for 8 million euros. In turn, "Besiktas" purchased Cherniy for 6 million euros, according to media reports.
Vaclav trained at the "Ajax" academy in his youth, moving from the Czech Republic to Amsterdam at the age of 15. He has also played at the senior level for "Utrecht" and "Rangers".
This season, "Besiktas" failed to reach the group stage of the European competitions for the first time in 13 years. This situation was a significant test for the club and will serve as motivation to improve the team's performance in the future.
