Simeone: Alvares is the strongest in modern football

Sports23:07, 10-09-2025

Diego Simeone, head coach of Madrid's "Atletico" team, considers his team and Argentina national team striker Julian Alvares to be the best player in modern football. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

In an interview on Spain's El Partidazo de COPE radio, the Argentine specialist was asked to choose among a number of world football stars, including Jude Bellingham, Lamin Yamal, Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland, Vinicius Junior, and Kylian Mbappe, alongside Alvares. In all cases, Simeone gave preference to his compatriot Alvares.

It should be noted that this season, 25-year-old Alvares has played three matches in the Spanish championship and managed to score one goal. His activity on the field and influence on the game are of great importance to the team.

According to Simeone, Alvares is capable of strengthening his position not only in the present but also in the future football world.
