French defender Samuel Umtiti, an experienced player who has played for FC Barcelona and the national team, is officially close to ending his career. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to RMC Sport, the 31-year-old footballer visited Lyon's training ground this week, but this visit was not related to signing a new contract. He came simply to shoot a personal video, which may be his possible farewell.

Umtiti played his last official match in January 2024 for Lille. Currently, the 2018 World Cup champion is a free agent and has not appeared on the field for a long time.

During his career, he won the Spanish championship twice with Barcelona. His main achievement came in 2018 when he won the World Cup with the French national team.

Samuel Umtiti is known in the football world for his high-level defensive skills and is a respected figure among fans. His retirement is a sad event for many football enthusiasts.
