Xau: Newcastle did not fall behind Barcelona, he says

England club Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe shared his thoughts after the Champions League match against Barcelona (1:2) defeat. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

In the match, the "blaugrana" team won thanks to two goals by Marcus Rashford in the 58th and 67th minutes. From the hosts, Anthony Gordon equalized in the 90th minute.

Howe said in his interview about the team's performance: “I was disappointed. We were in the game and I did not feel that we were behind Barcelona.

Unfortunately, we couldn't score the first goal, which determined the final result of the match. The team worked very selflessly, but sometimes skill was lacking for victory.

We missed our chances, and opportunities are rare in games against such strong opponents. Good game, worthy effort.

We fought until the end.”

Newcastle's next opponent in the Champions League will be the Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise.
