Chelsea head coach Enzo Mareska revealed the reason why Alejandro Garnacho was not brought on in the Premier League match against Manchester United. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The Italian specialist intended to bring the Argentine winger into the game. Although the player had received instructions from the coach, he ultimately had to return to the bench.
The new signing did not appear for his former team while playing for the Blues. The match ended with a 2-1 victory for the Red Devils.
According to Mareska, Garnacho was ready to play, but Wesley Fofana requested a substitution due to fatigue. As a result, the coach decided to bring on Tyrique George, even though it was initially planned to give Garnacho playing time.
It is worth recalling that Chelsea purchased Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United for 46 million euros before the transfer window closed.
