The president of the Italian club Giuseppe Marotta expressed his opinion about the current state of the "San Siro" stadium. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He said that in the near future the stadium might be purchased from the city authorities by the clubs "Inter" and "Milan". According to Marotta, the stadium is no longer suitable to host the Champions League final, nor can it be a candidate to host the 2032 European Championship.
The stadium is outdated and constantly in need of repairs, which shows that it does not meet modern standards. He cited the example of the "Wembley" stadium, which was demolished and rebuilt, and emphasized that a similar renovation is necessary for "San Siro".
Additionally, UEFA found the stadiums of the "Roma" and "Napoli" clubs unsuitable for hosting the European Championship two months ago. Only the "Juventus" stadium was considered worthy of hosting the competition.
These circumstances are an important factor in determining the future fate of the "San Siro" stadium. Club officials and city representatives are discussing the issue of modernizing the stadium or building a new one.
Prompt decisions need to be made to improve the stadium's infrastructure and raise it to international standards.
