Kostroma "Spartak" team's defender Nikolay Tarasov explained why the team members are practicing mixed martial arts (MMA). This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to him, a real man should have the ability to defend himself. Additionally, these training sessions help athletes improve coordination and broaden their overall physical conditioning process.

In an interview with "Match TV," Tarasov emphasized that every man should be able to defend himself as a priority, and secondly, such training is also beneficial for football players. He attributed the team's success in the 2025/2026 season to hard work and Spartak's distinctive style.

Currently, after 11 rounds, Spartak leads the PARI League standings, holding a two-point advantage over their closest rival, Yekaterinburg's Ural team. The team's strong results are the outcome of the members' relentless effort and effective preparation process.
