On Tuesday, the England national team defeated Latvia 5-0 and recently set records for ball possession and ball recoveries near the goal. Tuchel emphasized that playing with such high intensity at the World Cup will be challenging.
According to him, the team will need to adapt to the conditions. Playing in hot weather, for example at 40 degrees, or in rainy and 8-degree conditions is not the same.
Adaptation happens naturally because it is difficult to run so much in the heat. In his interview, Tuchel stressed that the playing style reflects England's football culture, and the players are accustomed to this style.
When necessary, they are ready to make changes to the game. After the victory over Latvia, the England national team secured early qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
The tournament will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026, in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
