After the match between 'Andijan' and 'Dinamo' (1:2) in the 6th round of the Super League, the home team's coach Aleksandr Khomyakov shared his thoughts on the game.
- We witnessed a match between two teams competing for the top spots in the tournament table. Our main task was to play well and win. We acted cautiously, and in some situations, we lacked precision. We couldn't make our fans happy with our performance and result today. We missed several opportunities. For example, Turdimurodov failed to score in one situation. We had several chances before conceding a goal in the second half. After 'Dinamo' opened the scoring, we played much more actively.
However, the result was not good. We suffered a painful defeat. Unfortunately, we lost two consecutive matches at home. I think luck was not on our side. The opponent played a much smarter game. In some situations, it seemed like something was off. However, the situation related to VAR and the time delay seemed to work against us. Unfortunately, conceding a goal in the last minutes was painful. We should have played cautiously in the final moments. The guys did their best. It was a tough game.
- We expected a victory; who do you think is the main reason for the defeat?
- It's hard for me to say anything. Who could be the main reason? Generally speaking, luck smiled on the opponent. They won due to luck. They kept pushing until the end and achieved the desired result. They played actively in the center of the field. We gave away too many opportunities in that area.
- In previous matches, you said you were not satisfied with the game. What about today?
- I often say that in many situations. What else can I say? The tight schedule and frequent games have had an impact. 'Dinamo' had more time to recover compared to us. Both the result and the game did not satisfy me. In my opinion, nothing worked for us. Especially, our actions on the wings did not go well. We made many mistakes. The result was unsatisfactory for us.
- Many consider 'Andijan's' main weapon to be set pieces. Is that really the case, or is it your unique style?
- I believe that set pieces are a main weapon for every team. We try to use set pieces effectively depending on the situations in the game. 'Dinamo' also tries to take advantage of set pieces. It's not just us; others also work on using such standards effectively.
- The coaches still haven't established an optimal lineup. Why is there always a tendency for rotations?
- Footballers are not robots; they get tired too. They can't always show stable performances. The short time between games sometimes forces us to play every 3-4 days. Depending on the situation, we give someone rest. We provide opportunities to others. We have more than 20 players. If one is not available, we play another. We try to adapt to the situation.
