Russia excluded from the League of Nations

This decision was expected because the sanctions imposed on the Russian Football Union remain in effect. These restrictions are applied not only by UEFA but also by FIFA.
Since the sanctions have been ongoing for almost four years, the Russian national team has only been able to participate in friendly matches. The draw ceremony for the Nations League will take place on February 12, 2024.
It is worth recalling that last season, the Portuguese national team won this competition. In the final match, they faced the Spanish national team and, after a 2-2 draw, won in the penalty shootout.
