Uzbekistan futsal team is ready for the Asian Cup
The head coach of the Uzbekistan national futsal team, Nodir Eliboyev, participated in a press conference ahead of the Asian Cup 2026 tournament. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He provided detailed information about the team's preparation, goals, and the opponents in the group stage. Nodir Eliboyev first expressed his gratitude to Indonesia, thanking the country's leadership and sports officials for their reception and hospitality in Jakarta.
He also wished good luck to all the teams participating in the tournament. According to the coach, the Uzbekistan national team has prepared seriously for the competition.
The team went to Jakarta not just to participate but with the aim of achieving high results. Eliboyev's main goal is to successfully pass the group stage and secure a spot in the playoff stage.
Therefore, fighting for victory in every match is required. The head coach emphasized that although this goal is difficult, it is achievable.
Eliboyev did not hide that there are some problems within the squad. Some futsal players could not join the team due to injuries, which forced changes in the team's game strategy.
Nevertheless, the national team has continued its preparation and is working on new tactics. The coach said that the team's readiness will become clear after the first matches of the tournament.
He also stressed that analysis and research will continue throughout the tournament. According to Eliboyev, all futsal players are in a fighting spirit and ready to fight until the end on the field.
Speaking about the opponents, the coach emphasized that there is no "easy team" in Asian futsal. All teams that reached the final stage are strong enough, so the playing style of each opponent has been thoroughly analyzed and relevant instructions have been given to the futsal players.
The Uzbekistan national futsal team will compete against the teams of Tajikistan, Australia, and Japan in the group stage. The first match will take place on January 28 against Tajikistan.
The match is scheduled to start at 17:00 Tashkent time. Now, everyone's attention is focused on the matches taking place in Jakarta.
