Umtiti: Messi is thirsty for victory in every game

Sports20:45, 10-02-2026

Former "Barcelona" player Samuel Umtiti shared his thoughts on Lionel Messi's approach to the game and his drive for victory. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This was reported by euro-football.ru. According to Umtiti, Messi is one of the players who can decide the outcome of a game.

According to him, even if the team is winning 4-0, Messi is not satisfied if he cannot score himself. He always strives to score goals, which is a characteristic of great players, Umtiti emphasized.

Additionally, Umtiti described Messi as a "killer" player near the penalty area. He said that Messi knows well when to accelerate or slow down the game.

"He is always observing his surroundings and assessing the positioning of players. There is no specific way to defend against Messi because he is an unpredictable player," Umtiti said in an interview with The Elevate House.

Currently, Lionel Messi plays for the American club "Inter Miami." Throughout his career, he has won the "Ballon d'Or" award eight times.
