Cooperation between Russian and Serbian football continues

The Russian national team can always turn to Serbia to hold matches despite international restrictions. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was stated by former "Lokomotiv" club defender Nemenya Peichinovich, who shared his views. According to him, if it becomes difficult for the Russian national team to find opponents, there is an opportunity to organize matches with the Serbian Football Association.
Peichinovich believes that if such meetings are held in Moscow or Belgrade, the stadiums will be filled with spectators. This was reported by euro-football.ru and Metaratings.
It is known that in a friendly match held in Moscow in March 2024, the Russian national team defeated Serbia 4-0. In that game, the sending off of Serbian defender Milan Gajić negatively affected the match.
Additionally, the Serbian national team usually regularly participates in major international tournaments. However, it has become clear that the 2026 World Cup, to be held in North America, will take place without Serbia's participation.
This situation naturally disappoints Serbian football fans.
