Safonov: Bright performance in the Champions League and birthday

Former France national team striker Florian Sinama-Pongolle highly praised the performances of Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov at PSG. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The euro-football.ru publication reported on this. According to Sinama-Pongolle, although he does not regularly follow the Russian championship, Safonov's play does not go unnoticed by football fans in France and Europe.

He especially highlighted the goalkeeper's successful appearances in the Champions League. "Russian players are showing good performances in the Champions League.

Safonov is doing his job at a high level at PSG," said Sinama-Pongolle. His words were cited by RIA Novosti.

In the 2025/2026 season, Safonov played 10 matches for PSG, conceding only 4 goals. Additionally, he successfully saved 5 out of 7 penalties directed at his goal.
