Uzbekistani female boxers are competing in the "Strandja" tournament

The 77th “Strandja” international tournament is ongoing in Sofia, Bulgaria. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Uzbekistan women's national team is also participating in this competition, testing their capabilities. Various results were recorded for our representatives in the second program of the tournament.
Some of our athletes won and advanced to the next stage, while others faced defeat. However, all our boxers demonstrated their character, resilience, and fighting spirit.
In the 57-kilogram weight category, Humorabonu Mamajonova stepped into the ring against Ireland’s Niam Fay in the quarterfinal match. Humorabonu fought actively and bravely throughout the bout but ultimately lost by a judges' decision of 2:3.
Despite the result, her performance was warmly received by the fans. Another representative in this weight class, Nigina Oktamova, fought against Ukrainian Karina Vovk.
During the fight, she fully asserted her dominance and defeated her opponent by technical knockout. This victory once again proved Nigina to be one of the serious contenders in the competition.
In the 60-kilogram weight category, Sitora Turdibekova faced Mongolia’s Namuun Monkhor in the ring. The match was intense and uncompromising.
However, in the end, Sitora lost by a score of 2:3. Nevertheless, her fighting spirit was commendable.
In the 65-kilogram category, Navbahor Hamidova fought against Turkey’s Berfin Kabak. In a tough and relentless match, Navbahor won 3:2, showcasing her experience and willpower.
In the 75-kilogram category, Aziza Zokirova faced Italy’s Melissa Gemini. Aziza achieved complete dominance during the fight and secured a decisive 5:0 victory.
This result further increased her chances in the next stage. In the +80-kilogram category, Sobirakhon Shahobiddinova fought against Kazakhstan’s Valeriya Akhenova.
Although Sobirakhon showed a worthy fight, she lost 0:5. This match served as a learning experience for her.
Another boxer in this weight class, Oltinoy Sotimboyeva, fought against Ukrainian Mariya Lochinska and won confidently with a score of 5:0. Her performance was one of the brightest results of the day for the national team.
Overall, in the second program of the “Strandja” tournament, the Uzbekistan women's national team recorded mixed results. Some of our athletes won and delighted the fans, while others were defeated.
But most importantly, all our representatives strove to honorably defend the country's pride. This gives hope for the upcoming stages and competitions.
According to the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation, the national team has enough determined and talented athletes. Fans are expecting high results from our girls in the upcoming fights as well.
