Uzbekistani boxers are achieving victories at the “Strandja” tournament

The quarterfinal matches have begun at the traditional “Strandja” international boxing tournament taking place in Sofia, Bulgaria. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The initial fights of this stage were eventful and important for the Uzbekistan boxing team. Some of our representatives advanced to the next round with confident victories, while others were forced to leave the competition.
Nevertheless, the overall mood and potential of the team were once again demonstrated to be at a high level. The quarterfinal matches were opened by Asilbek Jalilov in the -50 kilogram weight category.
He stepped into the ring against Georgian Goga Topuria. During the fight, Jalilov showed his composure and technical superiority, defeating his opponent with a score of 5:0.
This victory proved that he had seriously prepared for the tournament and aimed for high goals. However, fans were unable to watch the fight of Abdulloh Madaminov in the -65 kilogram weight category.
Due to an injury sustained in the round of 16, he could not enter the ring for the quarterfinal and had to leave the competition. Although this was a regrettable situation for our compatriot, his health and full recovery are the top priorities.
In the -55 kilogram weight category, Samandar Olimov fought against American representative Lorenzo Patrizio. Although Olimov acted actively and determinedly, the judges awarded the victory to the American boxer.
Despite the defeat, Olimov’s persistence and fighting spirit in the ring until the very end are commendable. Shavkatjon Boltayev once again demonstrated his high skill in the -70 kilogram weight category.
He fought against England’s Patrick Hewitt, achieving a confident 5:0 victory and advancing to the semifinals. This fight was noted as one of Boltayev’s brightest performances in the tournament.
Thus, the Uzbekistan boxing team achieved mixed results in the first program of the quarterfinals. The victories of Asilbek Jalilov and Shavkatjon Boltayev boosted the team’s morale.
However, Abdulloh Madaminov’s injury and Samandar Olimov’s defeat were somewhat unfortunate for the team. It became clear once again that in sports, not only skill but also health and luck play an important role.
We remind you that the next stage fights of the “Strandja” tournament are ongoing. More fights featuring our compatriots are expected.
Fans of the Uzbekistan boxing team are sure to experience exciting and thrilling moments ahead.
