Uzbek female boxers advanced to the final in Sofia

Uzbek female boxers are achieving significant results at the 77th “Strandja” international boxing tournament taking place in Sofia, Bulgaria. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The semifinal matches went successfully for our representatives, securing final spots in several weight categories. The tournament runs from February 23 to March 2.
In the 48 kg weight category, Farzona Fozilova and Sabina Boboqulova faced each other. Farzona had won in the final of the Uzbekistan championship, but this time Sabina confidently won 5:0 and advanced to the final.
Farzona received the bronze medal. In the 51 kg category, Feruza Kazakova defeated Irish boxer Caitlin Freres 5:0 and earned a place in the final.
Feruza demonstrated high-level performances throughout the tournament, also defeating representatives from the USA and Germany. In the 57 kg weight category, Nigina Oktamova stepped into the ring against Irish boxer Niam Fay.
In the quarterfinal, Niam had defeated Humorabonu Mamajonova, but this time Nigina won 4:1 and reached the final. In the 65 kg category, Navbahor Hamidova defeated English boxer Sacha Hickey 5:0.
She stood out in this match with her aggressive and active movements. In the 75 kg category, Aziza Zokirova competed against American Naomi Graham, winning 4:1 and advancing to the final.
Aziza dominated her opponent with confident and solid actions during the fight. In the 80 kg category, Rukhshona Parpiyeva faced Turkish boxer Yaren Duztas.
Despite giving her all in the fight, Rukhshona lost 0:5 and finished the competition with a bronze medal. In the +80 kg category, Oltinoy Sotimboyeva defeated Kazakhstan’s Dina Islambekova 3:2 and reached the final.
Although the fight was tense and uncompromising, Oltinoy showed composure and determination. In conclusion, Uzbek female boxers are once again proving their skills at the Sofia tournament.
They secured several final spots in one day, demonstrating their high-level preparation. Now all attention is focused on the final matches.
