New rules against time-wasting in football

Starting from the 2026/2027 football season, rules against deliberate time-wasting in the game are planned to be introduced. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the BBC, if a player or team is found to be delaying the game, the ball will be awarded to the opposing team. This news was shared by euro-football.ru.
According to the rules, if the goalkeeper wastes time while taking a goal kick, the opposing team will be granted a corner kick. This is an important measure to prevent abuse of time during the game.
Additionally, during substitutions, players are given 10 seconds to leave the field. If a player does not leave the field within the allotted time, the substitute entering the game will be delayed by 60 seconds.
During this time, the team plays with one player less. At the same time, it was previously reported that a new regulation called the "Vinicius rule" might also be introduced soon.
Such changes are aimed at making football fairer and more dynamic.
