11 Uzbek boxers in the final of the “Strandja” tournament!

The semifinals of the prestigious “Strandja” international boxing tournament, ongoing in Sofia, Bulgaria, have concluded. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This competition has been fruitful and rich in results for Uzbek boxing. Some of our compatriots have secured places in the final, while others ended the tournament with bronze medals.
In the -50 kg weight category, Asilbek Jalilov was supposed to fight against Daniyal Sabit from Kazakhstan. However, the bout did not take place due to Asilbek’s injury.
Thus, he finished the tournament with a bronze medal. This decision was made to protect his health.
A similar situation occurred in the -70 kg weight category. Due to an injury sustained in previous fights, Shavkatjon Boltayev did not participate in the semifinal match and received a bronze medal.
In the -75 kg category, Fazliddin Erkinboyev faced Italian Gabriele Guidi in the ring. Fazliddin dominated the fight and won with a score of 5:0, advancing to the final.
In the -80 kg weight category, Javohir Ummataliyev fought against Ukrainian Jamal Kuliyev. In a fierce battle, our compatriot won 3:2 and secured a place in the final.
In the -85 kg category, Akmaljon Isroilov faced Ukrainian Danilo Jasan in the ring. He also performed confidently and was declared the winner by the judges’ decision, advancing to the final.
In the -90 kg weight category, To‘rabek Xabibullayev stepped into the ring against American Josep Avinonga and achieved a decisive 5:0 victory. This result demonstrated his worthiness for the final.
In the +90 kg category, Ozodbek Aliyev fought against the host representative Yordan Morejon. Our young athlete won 3:2 and advanced to the final.
However, the semifinals were not successful for some of our boxers. For example, Norbek Abdullayev and Samir Sobirov were defeated in their matches and ended the tournament with bronze medals.
According to the semifinal results, 11 Uzbek boxers advanced to the final, including 5 men and 6 women. Another 6 of our representatives were awarded bronze medals.
These results once again proved the high potential of Uzbek boxing. Now, all attention is focused on the final bouts, with bright victories and gold medals expected from our compatriots.
