New rules against time-wasting in football will be introduced

Starting from the 2026/2027 football season, new rules against deliberate time-wasting will be introduced in the game. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to BBC, if a player or team attempts to waste time, the ball will be awarded to the opposing team. This information was provided by the euro-football.ru website.
If the goalkeeper deliberately wastes time while taking a goal kick, the opposing team will be awarded a corner kick. These changes are aimed at ensuring fairness in the game and limiting unnecessary time delays.
Additionally, a new procedure will be established during substitutions. A player must leave the field within 10 seconds.
If the player fails to do so within the allotted time, the incoming player will join the game only after 60 seconds. During this period, the team will play with one player less for one minute.
Moreover, there were earlier reports about the possible introduction in the near future of a new rule known in the football world as the "Vinicius rule." These changes are aimed at improving the quality of the game and ensuring fairness.
