Two football players are suspected of illegal betting in Turkey

Two famous Turkish football clubs — Galatasaray and Fenerbahce players may face serious problems related to illegal betting. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was reported by "Euro-football.ru". It has become known that Galatasaray club representative Metehan Baltajchi and Fenerbahce team captain Mert Hakan Yandash are suspected of engaging in illegal betting.
According to local legislation, Baltajchi faces up to 13 years, and Yandash up to 17 years of imprisonment. According to the "Sabah" publication, Baltajchi placed bets on Galatasaray matches at least twice.
Although he was not in the starting lineup for those matches, he was included in the team roster. This situation may increase the likelihood of the player influencing the outcome of the game.
According to current laws in Turkey, professional athletes are required to disclose their status to bookmakers in advance. However, Baltajchi is accused of violating the law by failing to comply with this requirement.
Currently, an investigation is underway regarding this case.
