Two famous football players in Turkey are under the threat of imprisonment

A major controversy has arisen in the world of football in Turkey. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Two famous clubs in the country — "Galatasaray" and "Fenerbahce" — have players who are at risk of imprisonment due to serious allegations related to betting. This was reported by euro-football.ru.
In this case, "Galatasaray" player Metehan Baltadji and "Fenerbahce" captain Mert Hakan Yandash are involved. If their charges are confirmed, Baltadji could face up to 13 years, and Yandash up to 17 years of imprisonment.
According to the "Sabah" publication, Metehan Baltadji placed bets on "Galatasaray" matches at least twice. Although he did not play in the starting lineup in those matches, it is emphasized that he could have indirectly influenced the outcome by being part of the team.
According to Turkish law, professional athletes are required to inform bookmakers of their status in advance. However, Baltadji is said to have failed to comply with this requirement.
This situation has caused a major uproar in the football world, and the players may face serious punishment.
