Laporta accused Font of acting against the club's interests

The presidential race at Barcelona football club has now entered a decisive stage. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The current president Joan Laporta sharply criticized his main rival Victor Font. In a recent speech, Laporta accused his opponent of attempting to disrupt stability within the club.
He claimed that Font and his associates are obstructing the registration of young talents important to the club, such as Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor. Without hiding his dissatisfaction, Laporta called his rival's cooperation with media outlets acting against the club's interests not glorious, but shameful.
Laporta also openly expressed his opinion about the fairness of the election process. He accused Victor Font of relying on lies and manipulations to gather votes.
In particular, he cited the latest rumors about Erling Haaland as an example. These reports were quickly denied by the player's representatives, and Laporta emphasized that this was clear evidence of misinformation being spread.
Furthermore, the president criticized his rival's false elitism. He said that Font and his team look down on ordinary fans and the working-class roots that shaped the club's spirit.
In response to the criticisms, Laporta firmly rejected the idea of considering himself a former president. He reaffirmed his authority and loyalty to the club.
He stated his intention to remain in office as the current president and to carry out his duties with dedication. This intense dispute is unfolding as preparations are underway for the upcoming elections scheduled for March 15 at the club.
Only fans who have been club members for at least one year and are adults will have the right to vote in this crucial election for the future. Source: One.uz
