One of the prominent and well-known representatives of Russian football, former national team captain Andrey Arshavin made a public statement regarding the situation at the CSKA club. He noted that the tactical solutions of the team's head coach Marko Nikolich have overshadowed the performance of several players by placing midfielder Miralem Pjanic at the center.
“I did not expect any 'wow effect' from Pjanic. Nevertheless, tactical sacrifices were made regarding him at CSKA. For example, Oblyakov's actions decreased, he seemed to have disappeared. Fayzullayev has completely vanished. That is, due to Pjanic's activity on the field, two important players faded away. If he leaves the team, it won't be a big loss for CSKA,” Arshavin assessed in an interview with Championship publication journalist Alexander Yershov.
Indeed, CSKA has been in great form lately. After 29 rounds, the team is in third place in the Russian Premier League with 56 points. Additionally, in the last match, Uzbek star Abbosbek Fayzullayev was substituted in from the bench, but he could not show his usual activity.
The Zamin.uz editorial team is closely monitoring the developments at CSKA, particularly Fayzullayev's activity in upcoming matches. How do you evaluate Arshavin's criticism? Is Pjanic really not suited for the team?
