Senegal stripped of the African championship title

An important decision was made by the African Football Confederation, and the Senegal national team was stripped of the continental championship title. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This event has sparked widespread discussions in the football world. It became known that in the Africa Cup of Nations final held two months ago, the Senegal team left the field at the end of the match against Morocco.
This action was found to be against the competition rules, and Senegal was given a technical defeat. Based on the decision of the Appeals Committee and according to Article 84 of the AFCON regulations, Senegal was declared to have lost the final match.
As a result, the Moroccan national team was awarded a 3:0 technical victory and was officially recognized as the continental champion. It is worth noting that although the Senegal players left the field in protest during that final match, the team captain Sadio Mane called them back to the game.
In extra time of the match, specifically in the fourth minute, Pap Gaye opened the score, and that goal had secured Senegal’s victory. Nevertheless, the new decision completely changed the result and the championship title was awarded to Morocco.
This event once again demonstrated how important discipline and adherence to rules are in football. Source: One.uz website.
