Senegal expressed dissatisfaction with the Africa Cup of Nations final result

The Senegal Football Federation expressed dissatisfaction with the result of the Africa Cup of Nations final and took the matter to the Sports Arbitration Court in Lausanne. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The initial result was annulled, and the 2025 championship was awarded to Morocco. This decision was announced about two months after the final match.
The dispute was related to a significant incident that occurred during the game. After a penalty was awarded in favor of Morocco, Senegalese players left the field for about twenty minutes.
The penalty kick was taken by Brahim Diaz but was unsuccessful. Nevertheless, the CAF appeals committee decided that Senegalese players should be punished and overturned the previous disciplinary decision that had rejected Morocco's complaint.
The Senegal Football Federation considers this decision unfair and stated its readiness to take all legal measures to protect the country's rights. Officials in Dakar emphasize that the principles of fair play were not respected and that the case should not be considered closed.
Currently, the Sports Arbitration Court is reviewing the appeal, and until then, the cup and medals remain with Senegal. This issue has become one of the biggest controversies in the history of African football, with the final decision to come from Lausanne.
