In a heartfelt letter addressed to fans and club staff on social media, the footballer shared his emotions. Silva described his nine-year tenure with the Citizens as the most important stage of his life.
He noted that in his first days at the club, he simply dreamed of achieving success, but over time, he achieved more victories than expected. Recalling the historic results achieved with the team, the footballer specifically highlighted winning the championship four times in a row and the victory in the Champions League.
For the athlete, the significance of the city of Manchester was not limited to football alone. He said that he started a family here and that this city became his second home.
Silva expressed gratitude to his wife and child for their support. He also noted that the incomparable trust and support of the fans always gave him strength.
The footballer wrote that his main goal was to worthily defend the honor of the team on the field and give the fans a reason to be proud. Bernardo Silva also thanked head coach Pep Guardiola, club staff, and teammates.
