O'tkir Yusupov: "We have put an end to Armong, the prayers of our people have given us strength"

The goalkeeper of the Uzbekistan national team, O‘tkir Yusupov, shared his feelings after the historic match against the UAE and expressed his impressions about the important victory.

– I sincerely congratulate our entire nation on this historic result. Thanks to the trust shown to us by our President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the sincere prayers of our people, we have achieved a great success today. We have put an end to a dream that has been a longing for years and presented a great gift to our people.

In today's match, even a draw would have been enough for us. Due to the high temperature and humidity, it was difficult for us to feel physically well on the field. In such challenging conditions, the doctors of our team and the medical staff from the CSKA club in Russia helped us a lot. They monitored the amount of water and minerals leaving our bodies and provided us with specially vitaminized assistance. This help from the doctors was extremely beneficial for us and greatly contributed to our ability to perform our duties well.

– Many dangerous situations arose near your goal today. How did you prepare for the game?
– Every goalkeeper aims to maintain the integrity of their goal before stepping onto the field. I also intended to take my parents' prayers with me and not let any goals pass into our net. I am very happy that I was able to help my team in this way.

– What was the most challenging situation for you?
– Every episode during the game was important and complex in its own right. Since the opposing team was constantly launching attacks, we were under constant pressure. However, despite this, we managed to successfully fend off all their attacks, – said Yusupov.
