Uzbekistan national thermal team was warmly welcomed in Tashkent

At Tashkent International Airport, a solemn welcome ceremony was held for the members of the Uzbekistan national football team upon their return from the World Championship. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The event focused not on criticizing the players, but on spiritually supporting them and preparing them for future major challenges. Government officials, sports figures, the players’ relatives, and many fans attended the ceremony.
In particular, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the leadership of the Uzbekistan Football Association attended to congratulate the athletes. During the event, a special video message was shown reflecting the thoughts of the state leader regarding the national team’s performance.
In his address, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the experience gained by the footballers at the World Cup was extremely important. The head of our state stressed that searching for culprits in defeats is not characteristic of our people; on the contrary, it is necessary to show confidence in young athletes.
These words were warmly received by those present, and the team’s first-ever participation in a World Cup was recognized as a historic event. Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, in his speech, singled out the courage shown by the national team against strong opponents.
He called for an end to harsh criticism on social media and urged people not to pay attention to baseless opinions about the players. The government leader stated that every move made by the footballers brought excitement and pride to the people, and that, despite their opponents’ high positions in the FIFA rankings, the young men fought like heroes.
The footballers, in turn, expressed gratitude for the support shown and pledged to justify the people’s trust in future matches. It should be noted that, in the group stage, the Uzbekistan national team played against Colombia, Portugal, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
In these matches, Abbosbek Fayzullayev and Eldor Shomurodov scored the first goals in the history of Uzbekistan’s national team at World Championships, etching their names into the annals of sport. Although the team finished at the bottom of its group, specialists regard this as the beginning of a great journey.
According to information from the One.uz website, the team’s head coach, Fabio Cannavaro, did not attend this solemn ceremony due to family reasons.
