2026 World Cup quarterfinal match between Norway and England national teams, held in the quarterfinals, has triggered an unprecedented surge in ticket prices on the secondary market, Zamin.uz reports.
Some of the announced prices for direct stadium viewing have surprised even the most experienced specialists. In particular, on unofficial platforms engaged in ticket resale, the price of a single ticket has been recorded as reaching up to one million dollars.
According to Sky News, these astronomical prices emerged on FIFA’s official resale platforms. Interestingly, the original official sale price of these tickets was only around $1,285.
However, due to high demand, their value has skyrocketed by several hundred times. Of course, relatively cheaper options are still available on the market.
For example, offers for seats in the same category are being made at around five thousand dollars, though even this is considered significantly expensive compared to the initial price. Such intense interest stems from several key factors.
First, both teams feature some of the brightest stars of modern football. Fans are eagerly anticipating a fierce clash between Norway, led by Erling Haaland and Martin Ødegaard, and England, boasting talents like Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham.
Moreover, the high stakes of the quarterfinal and the path to the semifinal have further intensified demand for tickets. The historic match is scheduled to begin at 02:00 Tashkent time.
Currently, football fandom is being measured not only by on-field results but also by the valuation of these million-dollar tickets. Whether a buyer will actually emerge at this price—or if this is merely another market fluctuation—will become clear in the coming hours.
According to One.uz, such prices could be recorded as one of the highest indicators in the history of World Cup tournaments.
