Erling Holand said a new era has begun in Norwegian football.

Although Norway's national team has concluded its participation in the 2026 World Cup, for striker Erling Haaland, this tournament was not just another step—it symbolized the beginning of a new era in Norwegian football. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The team's performances, especially the victory over Brazil and the intense match against England, prompted Haaland to openly share his thoughts on the future of Norwegian football. For Haaland, defending his country's honor at the World Cup had long been one of his primary goals.

He emphasized that the tournament provided the national team with a suitable opportunity to showcase itself on the international stage and reach a higher level. In his words, he took pride in the fact that through this competition, Norway had returned to the ranks of world football.

Now, the team's main task is not to rest on its achievements but to maintain stability and consistently display high-level play. The most unforgettable moment for Norway during the tournament was their victory over the Brazilian national team.

Haaland regards this success as a key factor that revealed the team's true potential. In his view, Norway demonstrated in practice that it is not only capable of offering worthy resistance to the world's strongest teams but also of defeating them.

This victory strengthened the players' confidence in their abilities. Although Norway gave England a chance in the playoff stage, Haaland does not consider this result a failure.

As he stated, the Norwegians forced the English to fight seriously, and the outcome of the match could have easily been different. Despite the loss, there was no despair in the camp—on the contrary, the desire for future victories has only grown stronger.

Haaland looks to the future of Norwegian football with great optimism. He believes that the talented generation formed in the current squad will be able to fully reveal itself at upcoming World and European Championships.
