The goalkeeper of the "Zenit" team from Saint Petersburg, Mikhail Kerzhakov, spoke about how he extended his contract with the club. This was reported by www.euro-football.ru.
He noted that everything happened during the vacation. He had gone on holiday, and a few days before the training camp began, Alexander Medvedev called him and offered to extend the contract as a player for another year.
According to Mikhail, he was given a few days to think it over, and eventually, the new contract was signed on June 17.
Despite the fact that Kerzhakov's previous contract was set to expire on June 30, 2025, the new agreement is intended to last until the summer of 2026. Currently 38 years old, the goalkeeper did not play in official matches last season, as Deniss Adamov and Yevgeniy Latishonok took his place in the team.
This contract extension allows him to continue his career in the team for another year. Kerzhakov has expressed his readiness to continue contributing his experience to the team.
