Eldor Shomurodov scored a goal against Istanbul Basaksehir, bringing his total to 7 goals

In the eighth round of the Turkish Super League, the battle for the Golden Boot among the league’s top scorers has intensified to the maximum degree, as reported by One.uz.
Uzbekistan national team forward Eldor Shomurodov has emerged as a contender in the race for top scorer, having scored a goal and provided an assist in the latest round, putting him level with Mohamed Salah and Gift Orban on seven goals each and moving ahead of the defenders in the standings. Currently, three players are tied at the top of the scoring chart with seven goals apiece: Eldor Shomurodov (Istanbul Başakşehir) opened the scoring in the 8th minute against Gaziantep and later assisted Umut Güneş’s goal in the 82nd minute (2:1), bringing his tally to seven; Vedat Muriqi (Fenerbahçe) scored against Alanyaspor to reach seven goals, four of which came in a single match against Eyüpspor (a poker); Gift Orban (Amed) failed to find the net this round and dropped out of contention, but remains on seven goals; Mohamed Salah (Trabzonspor), also on seven goals, will have a chance to extend his lead when his team plays their eighth-round fixture on October 19.
Shomurodov’s consistency has been evident throughout the season against Gaziantep: Eldor Shomurodov has scored in nearly every match since the start of the season, and having already scored three goals against Gaziantep last season—including goals in both encounters—he continued his scoring streak this time around; his goal-scoring record this season includes strikes against Konyaspor, Trabzonspor, Kasimpşa, and Galatasaray, with a brace against Gençlerbirliği. Victor Osimhen failed to score, setting up a duel between Salah and Vlaxović for the next goal: Osimhen remained goalless, as the Nigerian star played the full 90 minutes for Galatasaray but failed to score against Gençlerbirliği, leaving him with six goals and trailing in sixth place; the Salah–Vlaxović showdown on October 19: Serbian striker Dušan Vlaxović, with six goals, will face Mohamed Salah, who has seven, in what could be a pivotal clash as Trabzonspor take on Beşiktaş in their next central fixture.
Shomurodov’s current form is not only establishing him as a key player for his club but also positioning him as a genuine contender for the top scorer title in the Turkish Super League. Source: One.uz
