Veteran footballer Maksim Demenko gave an exclusive interview to the online publication “Evro-Futbol.Ru” about the latest news from the “Spartak” team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He discussed the possibility of retaining Baktiyor Zaynutdinov to strengthen the flanks of the “Spartak” defense. According to Demenko, Stanovich has been monitoring Zaynutdinov's performances for the Kazakhstan national team and in the Turkish league, and he could be a valuable player for the team.
He also believes that Zaynutdinov can adapt quickly since he has played in the Russian league as well. However, he emphasized that due to Zaynutdinov's limited playing time at “Besiktas” and only one assist, the question of why he is needed at “Spartak” remains. Demenko thinks that there might be some agency issues based on this situation.
He believes it is important for the club to acquire players who have regular playing practice, as the team will not be enthusiastic about a player who sits on the bench. He also reminded of the difference between the national team and the club. When asked whether there is a need to strengthen the defensive flanks of “Spartak,” Demenko noted that while the recent qualifying results are generally satisfactory, some players have not delivered the expected results, which is why the team's position last season is understandable. He also mentioned that forward Ivan Sergeev has rejected “Spartak's” offer and is close to moving to “Dinamo.”
Demenko believes that Sergeev made this decision because of his connections with Karpin. Although “Spartak” offered good conditions, every player has their own goals; some prioritize financial aspects, while others prioritize playing time. He pointed out that Sergeev has a better chance of playing in the starting lineup at “Dinamo.”
For this reason, the player chose this particular team. In the end, it was mentioned that the “Ahmat” team wants to loan Zorin again. Due to Zorin's good performance, Demenko stated that he could return to “Ahmat.”
He expressed that the player prefers to be actively involved in games rather than sitting on the bench. Interview prepared by: Yelena Grigorievskaya
