Nail Izmaylov, as the president of the National Football League, expressed his opinion about the possibility of the "Torpedo" team being expelled from the Russian Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Izmaylov was asked who would take their place in such a case. According to Izmaylov, this issue will depend on the decision of the disciplinary commission of the Russian Football Union.
The form of the decision is important. If it is a disqualification, the advantage will be given to the Premier League club.
For other cases, there may be various interpretations, but for now, nothing can be said for sure. It is worth noting that one of the partners of the "Torpedo" team, Leonid Sobolev, and the club director Valeriy Skorodumov are accused of attempting to bribe the referee.
A criminal case has been opened against them, and they are currently in custody for two months. This situation may negatively affect the team's activities.
Such situations in the football community damage the reputation of the sport and pose a threat to fair competitions. Therefore, the Russian Football Union is carefully reviewing this matter and taking appropriate measures.
