It has been revealed that striker Fyodor Smolov was involved in an incident that occurred at "Kofemaniya." This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Although this incident took place at the end of May, it has only recently come to public attention. The Ministry of Internal Affairs issued an official statement regarding the event.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, information was received about an individual who sought medical assistance for bodily injuries at a medical facility in Moscow on May 28. It was determined that there had been a disagreement among individuals regarding this incident.
The suspect identified is 35-year-old footballer Smolov. At that time, it was not possible to interrogate the athlete as he was outside the territory of Russia.
Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs requested medical documents from hospitals; however, all information was not fully obtained before the investigation period expired. Due to the limited timeframes set by law for investigations, it was decided not to initiate a criminal case to gather the necessary documents and clarify the circumstances of the incident, as stated in the Ministry of Internal Affairs' statement.
At the same time, the ministry emphasized that the investigation is ongoing. Additionally, an investigation is also being conducted regarding a possible claim against one of the participants in the incident.
Previously, there were reports that Smolov was being extorted for money to prevent a video from being spread on the internet.
