The solar power plants located in the south of Peru form the largest solar energy complex in the country and provide electricity to hundreds of thousands of homes. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
However, the 150 residents of the nearby Pampa village have not yet connected to the national electricity grid and are left in darkness at night. Among the villagers, only a few have solar panels, but they cannot afford to buy the batteries and other equipment necessary to use them.
As a result, most are forced to live with just a light or completely in the dark. The Rubí solar power station has built a dedicated power line to the Orygen village, but the work to pull wires into homes and connect them has not yet started by the government.
This work was planned to begin in March 2025. Due to the lack of electricity, the villagers face many difficulties in their daily lives.
Refrigerators, lighting, and other essential household appliances are lacking, leading to issues with food preservation and health risks. Local residents and specialists are asking the government to start the connection work for the electricity networks more quickly, as electricity is crucial for improving and developing village life.
