Elon Musk's Grok 2.5 model has been open-sourced

Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI has announced the release of the necessary model weights for its Grok 2.5 model as open source on the Hugging Face platform, TechCrunch reported. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This model was considered the company's best model last year and is now being made available to the wider public. Elon Musk announced on his social media page that the Grok 2.5 model has been open sourced and stated that the Grok 3 model is expected to be released in about six months.

According to engineer Tim Kellogg, the Grok model license includes special anti-competitive clauses. The Grok chatbot has sparked various controversies throughout the year.

It was criticized for promoting white genocide theories, questioning the number of Holocaust victims, and referring to itself as “MechaHitler.” Additionally, the xAI system has published its commands on the GitHub platform.

Although Elon Musk described the Grok 4 model as “the most truth-seeking artificial intelligence,” it was found that this model used Musk's social media account as a source when answering some controversial questions.
