On October 21, the American company OpenAI introduced a new artificial intelligence-based browser — ChatGPT Atlas. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
It is emphasized that this browser has the potential to fundamentally change the way the internet is used. According to OpenAI, ChatGPT Atlas allows users to save time and analyze information more quickly.
With the browser, it will be possible to call up a chatbot on any website via a side panel. It performs tasks such as summarizing articles, comparing products, and analyzing various data.
Moreover, ChatGPT Atlas is not limited to just viewing pages. If a user highlights certain words in a document, email, or calendar invitation, the browser immediately activates as an assistant.
As the company emphasized, the browser's agent mode also enables making purchases. Through this, ChatGPT can place orders on online stores on behalf of the user and automatically fill in the necessary information.
According to Reuters, ChatGPT Atlas is even capable of independently performing tasks such as booking tables at restaurants and filling out forms on websites. Currently, the browser is only available on macOS, with versions for Windows, iOS, and Android expected to be released in the near future.
OpenAI representatives call this browser a new stage that not only searches for information but also understands it and enables more effective use. The market for AI-based browsers is currently highly competitive.
Google has integrated its Gemini chatbot into the Chrome browser, Perplexity company has developed the Comet AI browser, and Microsoft has introduced the Copilot AI mode in the Edge browser. OpenAI’s Atlas browser may set a new stage in the competition, as it aims not only to search for information but to function as a full digital assistant.
