AMD has revealed the names of its upcoming processors, according to pepelac.news.
The company's technical data portal has left a list of new architectures and models open, and they are now considered officially confirmed. The information was originally intended for employees only.
The most interesting aspect is the three variants of the Gorgon Point APU: Gorgon Point 1, 2, and 3. They are a continuation of the Strix Point line and will form the basis of the new generation mobile Ryzen AI chips.
Additionally, the Medusa platform, based on the Zen architecture and supporting the FP10 function, has been mentioned for the first time. This could also be a mobile APU focused on artificial intelligence. A project named Soundwave is also on the list, but there is currently no information about it.
Among the solutions for desktop computers are Gorgon Point for Ryzen 9000G, the Grado processor with AM5 socket, and a new Threadripper PRO codenamed Shimada Peak. There are no standard Threadripper versions, which may indicate a temporary halt or delay in the HEDT line.
In the EPYC line, a mobile solution named Range Strike has emerged. This means that AMD is developing workstations, AI-based mobile APUs, and EPYC in parallel. Major updates are expected to begin in 2025.
