YouTube has intensified the fight against low-quality content

The YouTube platform has taken the fight against low-quality and meaningless videos created with the help of artificial intelligence to a new level. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to The Verge, the video hosting service has started deleting large channels that distribute such "AI-slop" content. In a report by the Kapwing editing service, it was noted that YouTube removed the CuentosFacianantes channel, which had 5.9 million subscribers, from the platform.
It was reported that the total views of this channel's videos exceeded 1.2 billion. Additionally, the Imperio de Jesus channel, which had an audience of 5.8 million, was also removed from YouTube.
This "clean-up" process intensified following concerns from YouTube CEO Neal Mohan about the increase in low-quality AI content. He addressed users, promising to reduce the spread of AI-slop on the platform, as well as to strengthen systems against spam and clickbait.
Experts explain that "AI-slop" refers to videos with identical scripts, artificial voices, random footage, and frequently repeated "sensational" style clips. Such content rapidly multiplies, filling recommendation feeds, making it difficult for genuinely crafted videos to be viewed.
For this reason, YouTube's strict measures raise hope among ordinary viewers that their feeds will be "cleaned," while sending a clear signal to content creators: artificial intelligence can be used, but content, quality, and honesty must come first. Currently, the main trend on the platform is that those who cannot maintain quality will not be forgiven by algorithms and rules.
