Meta Acquires Artificial Intelligence Bots Platform

Meta, the company managing Instagram and Facebook social networks, has acquired Moltbook, a platform specializing in interaction between artificial intelligence bots. Zamin.uz reported on this news.
As a result of this significant agreement, the Moltbook team will join Meta's Artificial Intelligence laboratories. Company representatives emphasize that this step opens new opportunities for AI agents to serve humans and business entities.
This news was announced by a BBC channel observer. The Moltbook website was launched in January as a testing ground for conversations between AI programs.
Interestingly, bots on the platform's forums even gossiped about their human owners. Technology experts are paying close attention to such communication between computers.
However, this situation has also raised cybersecurity and ethical concerns regarding the independence of artificial intelligence. Meta is keeping the financial details of this acquisition confidential.
Company CEO Mark Zuckerberg had previously announced plans to increase spending on AI projects this year. In December, the company also acquired Manus, a Chinese startup that creates general-purpose bots.
These moves are being made to avoid falling behind competitors such as OpenAI and Google. The Moltbook platform was created using the OpenClaw tool, which functions as a personal digital assistant on the user's computer.
This program is capable of performing tasks such as writing emails, scheduling meetings, and creating applications. OpenClaw creator Peter Steinberger was hired in February by OpenAI, the company that developed the ChatGPT program.
OpenClaw, presented as an open-source tool at the end of 2025, attracted the attention of many developers. However, cybersecurity experts are concerned about potential risks associated with connecting artificial intelligence to everyday devices.
Specifically, China's cybersecurity agency issued a warning about its dangers after local governments and technology firms began testing the tool.
