New dangerous banking trojan discovered in Google Play store

Another serious warning has been announced for smartphone users. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
It has become known that even the official application stores considered the most reliable are not completely free from cybercriminals. According to the latest information, new malicious programs targeting personal data as well as bank accounts have been identified on the Google Play and App Store platforms.
We are providing detailed information about these cunning trojan programs threatening your digital security. Another banking trojan called Anatsa has appeared in the Google Play store.
This program presented itself as a useful and harmless PDF document reader application. As specialists emphasize, before this application was identified and removed, it had been downloaded more than ten thousand times and managed to cause damage. According to cybersecurity experts, the criminals acted on a very well-thought-out plan. First, a completely clean and harmless application is placed in the store.
After successfully passing the moderation check, malicious functions are added to the application under the guise of updates. After this, a special downloader program inside the application installs additional files.
These files have broad privileges on the system and proceed to steal the user's bank cards and secret passwords. Another dangerous novelty is the updated version of the SparkCat trojan.
It has been detected not only in Google Play, but also in the App Store. This program disguises itself as a work messenger or food delivery service.
The main danger of the SparkCat program is that it carefully analyzes photos in the smartphone gallery. It searches for secret words or text information used to recover access to cryptocurrency wallets.
Be attentive when an application that seems harmless at first glance asks for access to your contacts or messages. After installation, if an application starts suspiciously downloading additional files, delete it immediately.
Also, do not download anything from suspicious websites that imitate official stores. Dear users, do you read the permissions requested by applications when installing them? How confident are you in the security of personal photos and banking data on your smartphone?
