Elon Musk established absolute control over SpaceX

Elon Musk's influence in the companies he leads is no secret—it is widely recognized as decisive. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

While Musk officially holds the title of head of technology at Tesla, his role at SpaceX has evolved into that of an absolute ruler of one of the world’s most valuable organizations. His singular control over the social media venture is now reflected in the filings for its upcoming public stock offering.

These details are being widely discussed in international media. After the stock market launch, Musk will simultaneously hold the positions of CEO, CTO, and chairman of the board at SpaceX.

Most significantly, he retains control of more than 50% of the voting rights. This allows him to appoint board members at his discretion and independently set the company’s strategic direction.

In practice, removing him from his position is virtually impossible. The company has significantly limited shareholders’ ability to voice legal objections and is taking full advantage of Texas’s business-friendly regulatory framework.

SpaceX’s leadership is warning future investors that their ability to influence corporate matters or board elections is either minimal or nonexistent. Although founders of tech giants like Google and Meta have, over the past two decades, sought to retain control, Musk and SpaceX have gone far beyond any precedent.

Legal experts say Musk is eliminating all the primary tools shareholders typically use to exert pressure on management. The company uses a dual-class share structure.

Through this, Musk owns nearly 94% of the shares with special voting rights that are not available for public trading. Even after this anticipated move—one of the largest shareholder events in history—Musk will not relinquish control.

By market standards, this makes SpaceX a fully controlled company. As a result, it gains exemption from many strict rules that require independent oversight.

This grants Elon Musk the freedom to execute his massive projects without any external interference.
