Intel is achieving technological independence in the production of new chips

Intel, which is striving to restore its former position in the semiconductor market, is achieving significantly better results than expected with its most advanced 18A technology development. Zamin.uz reported this.
According to recent data, the company has decided to fundamentally change its strategy for preparing central processing units of the Nova Lake family planned for future production. This decision is considered an important step on Intel's path to achieving technological independence and fully controlling the manufacturing process.
Initially, Intel had planned to produce approximately 90% of the chips in the Nova Lake category through external orders, that is, using TSMC's two-nanometer technology in Taiwan's factories. However, according to the company's internal reports, the yield rate of usable crystals in the new 18A technology process has improved significantly compared to expectations.
This forced the company's leadership to reconsider their plans. Due to the new indicators, Intel is now planning to produce the main part, approximately 90%, of Nova Lake processors in its own factories.
This approach not only helps reduce product cost but also serves to maximize the efficient use of the company's own factory capacity. According to experts, all technical difficulties and problems that have arisen in recent months have been completely resolved.
As a result of the stabilization of the technological process, the level of crystal usability has been raised to high indicators. This situation increases the competitiveness of products in the market.
Currently, this technology serves as the main foundation for Panther Lake processors and several other prospective projects. Expanding production in its own factories gives Intel the opportunity to provide an appropriate response to major competitors such as NVIDIA and AMD in the global market.
For users in Uzbekistan, this news may indicate that prices for modern computer technology will become even more stable in the future. Reducing dependence on external manufacturers significantly lowers the risk of various disruptions and unexpected expenses in the supply chain.
It is expected that the Nova Lake architecture will become one of the most efficient and energy-saving platforms in Intel's history. If the company fully implements high-quality production in its own factories, it will undoubtedly change the power balance in the entire semiconductor industry.
