Which countries are Uzbeks choosing for permanent residence?

Last year, 10,842 Uzbeks moved abroad for permanent residence. This was reported by the Statistics Agency.

In 2024, the majority of those who left Uzbekistan went to Kazakhstan (8,792 people) and Russia (1,601 people). Additionally, the share of those who left the country accounted for South Korea (96 people), Kyrgyzstan (73 people), Turkmenistan (39 people), and other countries (241 people).
For comparison, in 2023, the number of Uzbeks who moved abroad for permanent residence was significantly higher than the previous year (17,336 people). Among them, 14,051 people moved to Kazakhstan, and 2,670 people moved to Russia.
Fifteen years ago, in 2010, 44,420 people left Uzbekistan for abroad, 50,816 people in 2011, and 45,447 people in 2012. Since 2015, the trend of moving abroad began to decline significantly (31,765 people moved).

In 2024, the number of people moving to Uzbekistan from foreign countries for permanent residence was 2,229. Of these, 813 were from Russia, and 539 were from Kazakhstan. Additionally, 241 people moved to the country from Tajikistan, and 153 people from Kyrgyzstan for permanent residence.
For comparison, in 2023, 2,955 people moved to the republic from abroad. Of these, 1,175 were from Russia, and 726 were from Kazakhstan.
